Full-Stack Engineer

I’m Mehdi, CTO and founder at Inex One. I’ll be reviewing your application if you choose to apply. We’re a remote-first startup with a diverse team of 18, working together from various locations worldwide—from Singapore to New York.

About Inex One

At Inex One, we’re on a mission to improve global knowledge sharing. We believe access to critical research, expert insights, and data should be seamless and affordable. Our platform connects organizations with expert networks and survey research firms, enabling them to gain valuable insights through expert consultations. We’re in a niche but impactful industry, tackling inefficiencies and paving the way for smaller organizations to make better-informed decisions and thrive.
Our team values working smarter, not harder. With a flat hierarchy, we prioritize effective collaboration, autonomy, and open communication. You’ll find that most of our work is done asynchronously via Slack, Linear and GitHub, minimizing meetings while maximizing impact.
We’ve had a fantastic 2024, more than doubling the business. We’re solidly profitable and expect to continue growing at a healthy clip for years to come. More than 7,000 users worldwide rely on our technical platform to inform their most important business decisions - and that number is growing fast! Meanwhile, we’ve kept a tight team of high-value players. We opt for quality over quantity in all aspects, including in the team. We believe that a small team of motivated high-performers beats a bureaucratic army every day.

What You’ll Do

As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of product changes, transforming ideas into user-ready features. You’ll collaborate with a small team of four other talented engineers, guiding the development process from concept to delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing new features based on client and expert network needs.
• Iterating on smaller product enhancements to create significant value.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.
• Contributing to DevOps tasks and improving the overall developer experience.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who is not just a developer but a craftsman—someone who can ship changes from A to Z with pride in their work. Ideal candidates will possess:

Skills

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proven ability to lead software development initiatives.
• Proficiency in shipping solid, testable, and maintainable code (experience with React, Node, and Typescript is preferred).
• Strong understanding of web applications, including deployments, browsers, and servers.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

Personality Traits

• Eager to take ownership of product areas and lead development efforts.
• Willing to learn, grow, and collaborate within a team.
• Value empathy and effective communication.
• Prefer straightforward solutions over overly complex technical approaches.
• Pragmatic, capable of making decisions with incomplete information, and not afraid to seek clarity.

The Codebase

Our codebase is crafted for simplicity and readability. We prioritize developer productivity and security, focusing on practical solutions that enable us to release multiple times a week. Key points about our approach include:

• A unified codebase in Typescript, allowing seamless movement between the front and back end.
• A monorepo setup with thorough linting, code styling, and type checking.
• A GitHub workflow that integrates with our Linear board for efficient project management.

Work Environment

We are a remote-first company, currently with developers located in various countries. Our processes are designed for effective remote collaboration, with regular code reviews, pair programming sessions, and team retrospectives. While the role is fully remote, we require that candidates are being located within 1 hour of the Paris timezone for better collaboration.

Perks and Benefits
Joining Inex One comes with a range of perks:

• Make a significant impact from day one.
• Work with a fun, sharp, and diverse team.
• Enjoy the freedom to set your own schedule.
• Participate in regular team retreats to exciting locations.
• Benefit from a low-meeting culture focused on productivity.
• Access to a yearly budget for learning and development.
• Receive a computer and phone setup of your choice.
• Join a financially stable company with sizable equity compensation.
• Competitive salary aligned with market rates.

Why You Might Not Want to Join Us

We value transparency, so here are a few reasons this role may not be the right fit for you:

• You prefer a strictly defined “ticket factory” environment with minimal ownership.
• You believe that more features and complex technology are the best solutions to all problems.
• You want to focus solely on writing complex algorithms rather than addressing customer needs with clean, straightforward solutions.
